I don’t think things could have been any better during this Black Lake engagement session!! Well, maybe if there would have been no mosquitoes, but that’s about it! We had ended up rescheduling Alix and Kylee’s session for a day after than originally planned due to weather. The day before was HORRIBLE- 15+ mph winds, cloudy, kind of cold, not exactly what I had envisioned for their spring time engagement session. I was SO excited when we ended up holding off for a day because the weather looked SO much better! Sunny skies, no wind, and some GORGEOUS light made for the perfect session with these two! I loved getting to know them more during their session!!

I always love a good story of how my couples met and with these two, we take it WAY back! These two have known each other since they were 2 or 3. One of Kylee’s family members babysat Alix over the years, and they were family friends. It wasn’t until her family sat down one night and asked why they weren’t together that the magic happened. They dated in high school, and into college, and now will get to be husband and wife come summer! It really is the best thing ever when your fiancee/husband/wife is your best friend, and even better when it’s happened for years and years. They officially became each others fiancees one night up in Coeur d’alene during their light festival. Alix pulled her out to the beach so they could have some time together, and he got down on one knee in the sand and asked her to marry him. She said yes, obviously. 😉

These two have been down in Arizona living the baseball life for a while now, and so we had to find a break that Alix would be back in Washington before summer ball started! We got it all planned a little last minute (we initially weren’t planning to do it until July), and we had a blast laughing, talking about sports, and smacking all the mosquitoes off of ourselves. Lucky enough, I’m pretty sure these guys could be models in their spare time, and they made my job super easy! I’m excited to spend time with them again on their wedding day, but until then, check ’em out! 😀
